Come join the only Olympic sport where you can use a sword! Whether you’re experienced or this’ll be your first time picking up an epee, foil, or saber there’s never been a better time join.

What do we do?

We hold weekly training sessions at the Sports Center. We also hold weekly social outings as a society these can be both drinking and sober socials.

Competitions

We take part in, and host, several competitions as a club to give our team a chance to test themselves against other fencers from across Wales and England. These include our own personally run Triangular which enables our club members to face each other, and former members, in a more formal setting.

Who are we?

We are a group formed from people across a variety of backgrounds here is our committee:

Aberystwyth Univeristy Fencing Club is dedicated to the inlcusion and acceptance of all member regardless of there gender, sexuality, religous relief, age, race, nationality, culture, sex, ability, ethnicity, matiral status or background.

Equipment:

The club provides all the require fencing kit but we ask our member to bring appropriate sports wear e.i:

Water bottle
Trainer
T-Shirt
Shorts / leggins / tracksuit bottom
A well fitting sports bra for those who need them.

We endeavor to provide our members with kit however should you wish to buy your own you will require;

Breeches
Chest protectors
Plastron
Jacket
Lamé (for saber and foil only)
A Glove for your dominant hand
A sword (epee, saber, or foil)
Body and Mask wires (Mask wire required for saber only)
Full length trousers comfortable for exercise (We will not provide this)
