This week is “AberSU Celebrates week” - THE perfect opportunity to celebrate all things related to Aber students and we will be celebrating one promise at a time.
(not aware of Undeb Aberystwyth’s promises to students – have a look here)
We want our students to feel proud of their achievements, have a vibrant set of skills and experiences to feel confident to take the next steps on their journey, wherever they may take them.
Today we take a look back at some of the ways we have “helped to grow your skills and experiences” this last academic year:
- Between June 2023 and April 2024 194 students have registered as Student Volunteers on our Volunteer platform which hosts a range of volunteering opportunities & these students are working towards the Aber Award; totalling 8,823 volunteering hours so far this academic year.
- 250 Academic Representatives elected and 82% of these have attended training.
- First Academic Representatives and Staff networking session held with 40 in attendance.
- This year we have provided a range of work placements for 10 Aber students and recent graduates via the University’s ABERforward scheme.
- We have also hosted 4 short-term flexible work experience placements through the University’s Career Readiness Support programme.
