Tiffany McWilliams (Tiff for short), she/her – Opportunities Officer
Hi, I’m Tiff and I am your returning Opps Officer. I am honoured to be back again for another year because I have loved this role and I hope that I’ve made a difference. I am really focused on making sure that your voices are heard and your problems get solved. Please come to me for anything and everything because even if I don’t have an answer, I can either find out or find someone who does have one.
Tell us an interesting or random fact about yourself..
I have met David Tennant (he is really lovely), the only time I have ever broken a bone was because I fell out a tree, and I can touch my nose with my tongue.

It’s your last meal on earth…what’s on the menu? & which 3 celebrities would you invite for food?
Starter: Little Italy garlic mushrooms. Main: Fusion King’s Mongolian chicken with fries. Dessert: Biscoff cheesecake.

What are your hobbies or interests?
I have quite a lot of hobbies and interests. I have done lots of sports, such as netball, football, athletics, rock climbing, rounders, as well as a few different styles of dance. I am a big fan of musical theatre, singing and dance. I am also a huge geek when it comes to movies and TV shows.
Supernatural is my all time favourite TV show but I have a top 20 movies because I can't choose.
Why did you choose to stand for this role?
I originally stood because I was nominated and it made me realise that I could do a lot of good whilst having a lot of fun. I re-stood because I know now that I am extremely passionate about this job and I have found what I‘d like to keep doing forever. I plan to stay in Student Unions, hopefully in the Opps department.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to being surprised. My job is absolutely crazy and every day is different. I am excited for all the things I don’t know I’ll end up doing yet.
What are some of the causes you care about?
I am very justice-orientated and care about promoting equality and equity across all bases.
What is your favourite Aberystwyth hangout?
I like the Cambrian for a chill evening, the Commodore cinema and the beach for bonfires and barbecues.
If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
I think a Tiger because they can be cute and cuddly but also fierce and ferocious and will fight for what they want.
Do you have any out there traditions or strange superstitions?
I believe in ghosts, and the ocean is absolutely terrifying. We have only explored like 10% of it. There has got to be some scary stuff down there.
What one thing do you think everyone should do/try at least once in their lifetime?
Work in retail or the service industry. If we all knew what it was like I think staff would be treated much better. Also, do Aberchallenge because it is awesome.

Name a favourite place you have visited and why.
I haven’t done as much travelling as I’d like but I went to Lanzarote for Christmas two years ago and it was just so beautiful.
